Hüseyin Emmi is 88 years old. He was beginning the apprenticeship when he was only 15. He had been working for three years without receiving any amount of money. At that time, there were about 30 saddlers in the bazaar. He opened his own shop in 1945. He had done military service for five years. He’s still working in the same place. He purchased the shop which he had rented at one time. When he says “I feel myself like over the hill in the recent year”, we also understand he has yet noticed his tiredness which remains from the lifetime ticking away while he is working. He is upset about the decrease in the number of donkeys, however.
